So, I was going to try and write in this everyday but, it's already been over a week. Oops! Anways, I got the job at kindercare and I start on Monday. I'm kind of nervous since I have never worked in Early Childhood education. But, I'm willing to try anything. So from not until May 4, I will work 3-6 M-F. Then on may 7 I will start working 9-6. And....I will have weekends off. I'm starting out at 9.50 which isn't super bad. It's more than I would make subbing. So, I'll take it. Next week they are setting me up with a drug test , physical and a TB shot. I need to make sure that I haven't had a TB shot recently. I don't want to explode or something. Also, I've never had a drug test and I'm kind of nervous. I don't do any drugs, but what happens if something weird I ate showed up. I would die of embarassment. Knowing me, in a rare occurence they would be like you tested postive for meth and I would flip out. hahaha. I doubt that will happen though.
The wedding planning is coming along nicely. I made a website for our wedding plans, so people can check up. Kind of overkill, but I'm a loser. So here's the website

http://web.mac.com/rlsearcy/iWeb/Our%20Wedding/Welcome.html

My next adventure is a skeleton of the guest list so I can see what kind of monster we're planning here!

Job?
[info]bsugirlie88
so today I definitely did absolutely nothing. Well, I guess I addressed my grad announcements. But, I'm talking I just took a shower and it it's 7 p.m. Lord. Anyways. I love spring break, but hate it at the same time. I am so bored. It's a good stressfree-i'mdonewithmyportfolio-imgraduating bored. Also, on the job news front. I don't have a teaching job still. So Monday I decided to look for alternatives. I decided to drop my resume off at kindercare. The lady seemed very interested and she called me today. I have an interview tomorrow! YAY! I hope it goes well. It's not my dream, but it is a full-time job. It's also in the field of education. I would teach 3-4 year olds. BIIIGGGGG difference between that and HS journalism. Maybe we can start a newspaper hahaha. It would be like "Breaking News...Timmy spilled his juice" ahhahah. It will definitely be interesting. And at least hey it's close to my apt (and the apts B and are looking at.) So cross your fingers for me tomorrow at 10:30. I'll be trying to beg for employment.

Today was a fun day. My mom and I decided to run some errands. I really wanted to go to look at wedding dresses. I know it’s ENTIRELY too early, but I’ve never tried one on and I was dying to. So, we drove up to David’s Bridal on 82nd street. You are supposed to make an appointment to try on dresses so I didn’t think I would get to. But, there was a cancellation. So Whoo hoo! I got to try on dresses. It was really fun to get into the corset and underdress stuff. I tried on about 6 dresses. I only hated one and loved 2. The other ones were okay. It was really fun to try them on. I think I’m going to go everyday. Hahaha. Also, I saw the color I like for BM dresses. It’s going to be perfect for the rest of my color scheme. YAY!

In non-bridal news, we also looked for apartments. My mom is thinking about moving out of this one, and B and I are thinking about getting one this summer. We found some we really like but they don’t have W/D hookups so that is a no-go. My brother came over tonight and we all ate dinner and watched the Departed. It was a good time. Then my mom forced us to dye eggs for easter. Oh lord. It was fun though. Haha.

Oh and here are links to the two dresses I loved.

Life Change :)
[info]bsugirlie88
So, I'm going try and start writing in this journal. I think it will be therapeutic for me. I'm starting get very restless with wedding stuff. I don't even know where to start. I do think we've set a date though. We're planning for October 18, 2008. A lot of people are saying that is a long engagement...but I don't really care. I've always wanted a fall wedding and this fall is just too soon (financially). One of the main things I'm worried about is money (who pays for what?)I found a list online, but I just don't know how we should go about asking this. "Hey mom and dad you just shelled out money for my life for the past 21 years...how about a couple more thousand?!" The whole divorce thing hasn't helped either. My main goal for this whole thing is to not let anyone walk all over me. It is our day, and we will make the decisions together (which means mostly me...by default :) I'm trying not to get to worried about it because it's a year and a half away. So, there will be definitely more to come.

Anyways here how he proposed. We decided to go to Chicago for a weekend get-away over my spring break. He decided to propose to be on the top floor of the Sears Tower. First, he had to get through some obstacles. First of all, I'm the nosiest person in the world so he had to be incredibly discreet. Second, there was security. He decided to leave his keys in his pocket so it would set off the alarm too. He then told the guy that he had an engagement ring. I didn't hear it all (AMAZINGLY!)Then, a group of girls that were on a high school field trip must of over heard Brayton and followed us around when were upstairs. After walking around upstairs he finally got the nerve to do it. We were looking out the window and he pulled out the ring box and said rachel, i Got you something. I said WHAT?! No WAY and we hugged and such. Then the nosey girls started clapping. Then he said, You are saying Yes, right? I had totally forgotten to say yes in the process. I also remember saying, "I think I'm going to get sick. But, don't worry it's not because of you It's because of the height" HAHAHA. Then we both laughed because that is just us.

I'm just incredibly happy to be marrying my best friend. Everytime I think about it just makes me laugh. Who would of thought almost 3 years ago, that we would be engaged?!

This is us right after he proposed

This is the view from where he proposed

This is the ring

Also, here are some ideas I've been thinking about.

My flowers (Bridesmaids)
I just like these colors for my wedding. Also, having the dark red as the bridesmaids colors what do you think?

Also, for my flower girls throwing leaves instead of petals. I don't like that basket though by the way (so dont judge that!) Is that weird, cheesy or cute? Input please.:)

Hey Y'all!

Just wanted to update everyone on how I'm doing. I'm not even sure if anyone reads this or not...but hey someone might.
Anyways.
I've moved back to Indy so I can start student teaching at Lawrence North High School. I'm really excited about it! I'm living with my mom and I have almost everything settled. It's nice being able to see my fam, indy friends, and brayton anytime I want to! I'll update more when I have some more stuff to talk about. I'm sure with my student teaching experience I'll have stories galore!

till then,
Rach

[info]bsugirlie88
I'm so sad...I used to be the best little blogger. I never update. I'm sorry. If I like you though you probably know how my life is right now.

The summer is wrapping up and my time at BSU is getting somewhat near. I'm definitely ready for classes though. I have this semester and then I can move back to Indy. Then in the spring I'll be student teaching. I'm taking 15 credit hours next semester...which is kind of a break for me. I took 18 in the spring and 12 this summer. Oh and by the way I got straight A's this summer! So that's moving my GPA up and I might graduate with my goal :) WHOO! HOO! Anyways, this summer has been fabulous minus the classwork. I have done so much: camping, concerts, spending time with the boy and family, celebrating my 21st. It just has been a blast. Angelica moved though, and that made me sad. I am really happy for her though, she is going to be great at her elementary school. Since she moved we got a new roomie, Sara. I met her at work, and she is such a sweetie. So, as soon as Kerry gets her butt back up here our apartment

I never worry about it raining outside
[info]bsugirlie88
Wow! It has been forever. I keep up on reading...just finding the motivation to update is the problem. So, let me give you a little synopsis of what's going on.

I finished my junior year of college...so I'm a senior now! Whooo hooo! Doesn't that sound scary? It seems like I just got here. Fall semester is my only semester here at Ball State because in the spring I'll be student teaching. I still don't know where I'll be for student teaching. I wish I knew it's driving me nuts! I'm starting to worry more and more about getting a job after school. Getting an English liscence is looking more and more necessary. Anyways, sorry about the tangent. So, I got great grades this semester. I'm so damn proud of myself:

Dance History A-
Educational Technology 350 (Webpage building)A
Educational Technology 485 (A kind of Critical thinking about edtech class )A
News 202 (Broadcast News Class) B
Journalism 342 (Web Design Class)B
Educational Psychology B

So I ended up with a 3.44! That is the best GPA of my life. Sad, I know, but I don't remember a time when I didn't get a C. It felt so refreshing to actually be excited about my grades. I did all this taking 18 hrs and working. I think it's because I'm living off-campus. It is a lot easier for me to study here. Good deal, huh? Summer school starts next week, but my schedule shouldn't be too demanding.

Angelica graduated this past weekend. It was soooo long. We were there for 4 hours. Maybe I should skip mine next year...HAHAHA! It was really neat though to see the ceremony. It's funny because people write stuff or draw stuff on top of their hats (i.e. Hi Mom!) We had a party that night and it was pretty fun. Not as many people showed up, but we still had a good time.

It's ben so relaxing this week not having to do anything but work. I work 25 hours this week which is going to be great for my credit card debt :) (I'm not in too deep..don't worry!) I even got to lay out by the pool yesterday. In the beginning it took me a little while to relax, I guess it's because I'm still in school mode. After awhile, I was able to relax and read a book (which is quite funny so far!)

Oh another thing, stupid Leah made me start watching lost. I have six episodes left in the 1st season, and I'm addicted. I love the non-stop action and cliffhangers.

I went shopping today and got 3 shirts, 1 pair of jeans, and a convertible bra. All for about 60 bucks. Not too shabby. I'm kinda mad at myself because I got my tax check a couple of weeks ago...and it's pretty much gone. It has helped though, because I only worked like 10 hours the last 3 weeks of school. So, I guess its kinda justified.

SO things are well, Brayton and the fam are good.

Thought this was fun

I hate the day coming back from break. It's so rough.
I had a pretty good break though.
My car died for the last time so I recently acquired a new one! It's a 2004 Sebring. It's dark navy blue and four-door. I love it. I've never had power windows or cruise control, so I'm soaking this up! It was really sad to leave Sally behind though. I've had that car since I was 16. I took off a little piece of duct tape to scrapbook. Does that make me a crazy lady?

I also got to see Jennifer this weekend. It was the first time I had seen her pregnant. She is so cute. I have pics that I'll post at the end of the week. I won one of the shower games, because I'm cool like that. I got a candle and lotion. It was great to see my good ole' pal, Harry. ;)

Brayton and I got to spend some time together over break. I worked 23 hours, so I went back and forth between here and Indy. It was nice to spend more than one consecutive night together. We went and saw Failure to Launch, and it was pretty damn funny. SJP is so awesome.

Sorry this was kind of a crappy update. I read everybody's journals I just have no will to write BOO!

I couldn't be happier for you and you

Frustrating Familiarity
[info]bsugirlie88
I am such a bad updater.

Christmas was unusual this year with the divorce. I tried to manage both families plus Brayton's equally.

Home has been pretty good. It's been nice spending with my family. I wasn't sure when I was going to go back to Muncie; it just depended on my work schedule. I called yesterday and work I was scheduled Monday and Saturday. So I asked if anybody wanted my hours on Monday, and somebody took them. So, that means I am going to be in town until Friday morning (most likely). I feel better. It was hard cramming family and friends during the holidays. I didn't get to see a lot of people I wanted to, but I guess friendships change. On a good note, Brayton and I do get to see Mandy and Scott tonight. I think they are having a few people over for New Year's Eve. If it's just us then we'll still have fun. Just cause we are cool like that.

I did make out like a bandit during Christmas though:

An ipod nano, a bunch of scrapbook stuff, makeup, The Sound of Music dvd, An Officer and A Gentleman dvd, An American President dvd, money, candles, slippers, a fluffy pillow, a quesdilla maker, a colts jersey....oh and just so many other things.

Oh and I also have been a great shopper this past week. I have gotten so much on sale! You know my thrifty shopping habits :)

I guess that's about all.

P.S. Pray for my dad (He's having surgery this week...and I'm glad I'll be her to help him have a speedy recovery)

She's kind, she's funny, she does it all...
[info]bsugirlie88
Things I accomplished today:
Balanced Checkbook
Watched the Sound of Music
Gave my self a pedicure (with a nice new foot bath--thanks to Ali!)
Laundry

I also went over my schedule again. I will be able to graduate in Spring of 2007 if
I can take Journalism 342 this semester
I can take 4 classes this summer
and
if all the scheduled times stay correct through Fall 2006

I will graduate with a degree in Secondary Journalism Education with a Educational Technology supplement

So I can teach journalism, advise publications, and teach technology classes.

I don't know if I'm ever going to get a job. I am so worried because I didn't double in English. I hope this Ed tech degree will make more marketable.

Blah. I don't want to grow up.

2005 Year in Review
[info]bsugirlie88
2005 in Review....
Year in Review: Take the first few lines from the first post of each month over the last year (excluding meme/quizes):

January:
I'm back here in Muncie. I actually feel good about it. I have my binders color-coded and sitting neatly in a row on my shelf just waiting to be used. I have all my bags unpacked. I have everything prepared for this semester

February
February always blows for me.
I'm having family problems right now, can't get into detail on here, but pray for my family.

March
School is going okay. I am waiting to get my test score back from the second test in Geology (the one I studied my butt of for) and he still hasn't posted it. GRRR! I am taking an Astronomy test on Wednesday which I am petrified of...I need to study like WHOOOOAAA tonight!

April
Pacer game was awesome last friday. We had superb tickets (We got them from Brayton's step dad's work) They were 75.00 dollar tickets. I loved it. Conseco is just awesome. One day I will put pics on here from the game.

May
My sophomore year of college is now over. I am half-way through! Yay!
On the way home I got another damn speeding ticket. On freaking 69.

June
Brayton's open house was great. Also, we went bowling afterwards.

July
It's my birthday! Yay!

August
I am trying to get a lot of things accomplished before I "actually" move in 15 days. I have to re-pack the boxes I am using to move.

September
Living in the apartment is great. It is so nice to not have to wear flip flops in the shower. I also love being able to shut the door whenever I want to be alone. Cooking for myself is not bad either, I haven't burnt down the kitchen or anything.

October
Everything has been going okay. It seems like I am working a lot, even though it is less than 20 hours a week. I know it’s not much, but it’s a lot to handle on top of my classes.

November
I probably shouldn't be writing, but it's better than writing my paper on the conceptual framework of education. I don't even understand it.Thank God my prof pushed the due date back to Thursday.

December
Blah. I hate this time of the year. You realize there is about two weeks left and then all hell breaks loose.
